The BiSTAR® system is a vital computer platform system. It constructs a multi-machine redundant voting computer according to the principles of combined fault safety, reactive fault safety and intrinsic fault safety stipulated by EN50129, and realizes the functions of vital input acquisition, output drive and external communication, etc. As a general vital computer platform, BiSTAR® can meet the various interfaces and functions required by applications of state railway, urban rail transit, and tram, etc.
The research and development of the vital computer platform of UniTTEC started in 2007 and underwent 3 major versions of cyclic optimization and dual certification by Lloyd’s and TÜV Rheinland through 13 years of continuous investment and a total investment of RMB 500 million. By seizing the market opportunity, UniTTEC has broken the situation where the core technology of vital computer platforms is mainly controlled by foreign giants. It invested heavily in independent development and created a BiSTAR vital computer platform for wayside and carborne applications that meets both ETCS and CBTC standards, which has improved the overall competitiveness of UniTTEC products.
Project participation: Research and application of key technologies of driverless train operation (DTO) control system in urban rail transit
This project designs feasible scenario design and operation rules by studying the overall functional specifications, technical specifications and interface specifications of the DTO control system; investigates the key technology of the DTO control system and develops the DTO control system equipment; studies vehicle and track state sensing technologies supporting the DTO control system and develops track state sensing system equipment supporting the DTO control system; investigates intelligent big-data operation and maintenance technology based on mobile interconnection and develops intelligent operation and maintenance system equipment.
Through implementation of the project, a DTO system of urban rail transit is developed with independent intellectual property rights. The system may be applied in urban rail transit to provide solid technical assurance for improving urban rail transit train operation safety and reliability, elevating operational efficiency, improving and coordinating the relationship between the operator and passengers, reducing construction investment and operational cost, etc. In addition, the project has feasible industrialization conditions, improves the construction and application standards of autonomous driving control systems and can generate huge economic and social benefits
Guided by the national big-data strategy and following the development trend of smart cities and smart transportation, UniTTEC cooperates deeply with the Joint Innovation Center of Space & Time directed by academician Wang Jiayao based on such national innovative platforms as the State and Local Joint Laboratory of Train Communication and Electromechanical Control in Urban Rail Transit, etc. and transformation of various scientific & technological achievements, invests a lot of resources to tackle difficult problems and develop a space & time big data platform of smart transportation, filling a key gap in the solution of cloud, boundary, and ends.
As a whole-stack big data platform, Yi Wei Shu Zhi combines a variety of technical capabilities such as the Internet of Things, foundation support, artificial intelligence, digital twin, big data, general application and professional urban transportation services, and so on and features flexible product forms, strong compatibility, ease of use, and full openness. It enables simplified, and platform-and-service oriented urban traffic, helps users to realize digitalized transformation, improves comprehensive service capabilities of passenger travel, operation administration & control, equipment operation & maintenance, and enterprise management. At the same time, Yi Wei Shu Zhi will also provide technical services for such fields like smart cities and industrial Internet, etc.
Make data count. Guided by the space & time big data theory and based on deep understanding of the transportation industry, Yi Wei Shu Zhi has determined its positioning in the four most important dimensions of constructing digital twin, mining data value, realizing interconnection of everything, and enabling business innovation.
Digital twin with be constructed, through key technologies of time & space big data such as GIS, BIM and Internet of things, integrating geographical and construction information, converging ground and underground space data, threading information belonging to history, present, and future and superimposing these three on the same platform, to be more accurate and wholesome regarding the real world.
Data value will be mined, providing a one-stop processing platform with excellent data processing ability and cluster management ability, using big data technology to deal with massive data extended to the four-dimensional space and time, for value of data on a deeper level.
Interconnection will be realized. The platform will be always open and shared, actively accepting the outside, which may access the platform through common and customized protocols and which is supported to register services into the platform; on the other hand, the platform would be actively open to the outside, allowing the outside to use functions of the platform and access data within the platform via simple interfaces.
Business innovation will be enabled, making Yi Wei Shu Zhi a platform that can not only "run applications" but also "do development". Through graphical development engines and tools, it supports the business development process, which greatly reduces the costs and technical requirements for business development and innovation. Based on the above functions and characteristics of Yi Wei Shu Zhi & Intelligent Transportation Space & Time Big Data Platform, we designed and developed a business application system from the perspective of user needs, which will enhance the value and empower digital intelligence for customers in scenarios of construction management, operation & maintenance management, and metro protection, etc.

Based on a cloud-boundary-end architecture, the industry-leading UniMS mobile Internet industry products combine design implementation capacity and experience of industrial monitoring and emergency and are endowed with integrated solution capability from platform to software and/or hardware products and from technology to vertical application. The solutions cover operational monitoring and full-process closed-loop management before, during, and post incidents and are characterized by fast deployment, networking, response and recovery, and may play an important role in industrial & mining, oil & gas, forestry, fire protection, environmental protection, geological disaster prevention and other fields.
Example 2: Intelligent security solution
According to the characteristics of metro industry equipment distribution, and based on a platform concept, a diversified intelligent security solution is created of "data + scenario + AI" and a cloud-boundary-end architecture. From the perspectives of safe production and emergency commanding, it may achieve digitalized security, three-dimensional operation, and intelligent epidemic prevention & control and help to significantly enhance the overall metro safety performance. The scheme can be applied in fields of industries and mines, epidemic prevention & control, smart communities, smart parks and urban governance, etc.
The generic intelligent train platform of UniTTEC is composed of general on-board vital computer hardware, platform software and their system tool suites supporting application development. It can meet the requirements of application for various subsystems of SIL0/2/4, such as on-board signaling system, TCMS subsystem and on-board LCU units, etc. The platform adopts a 2*2-o-o-2 architecture with a standard 3U size for a single board of normalized design and featuring high reliability and high safety. The platform offers a variety of forms of application software programming, including ladder diagram, Boolean logic and C language, providing application development software environment and debugging environment, which is convenient for users to develop applications quickly.
